Celebrating 200 years of Colombian independence!

We are very happy to share with you our new show for this year, it is called “Colombia Negra and Piel Canela”. With this performance the CDG wants to display the history and influence of the African culture in the Colombian traditional dances as the Spanish conquistadors brought the African slaves to our lands.

The African slaves mixed in very well with the local indigenous and introduced their culture, music and dance. The dances we present in this show have a lot of drums and hips movements, it is a very dynamic performance. Starting with a Spanish flamenco the show then continues with a Cumbia, Currulao, Bullerengue and finally a Mapale.

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. Welcome to our show! Here in our blog you can always follow our performances through the year!
